Coogan Smith Massachusetts Lawyers

Coogan Smith History

Our Celebrated History

The firm traces its roots to McIntyre & Henry, a partnership formed in 1946 by John W. McIntyre, a former Mayor of Attleboro and District Court Judge, and Edmund F. Henry, a Harvard Law School graduate, upon Henry’s return from service in the Second World War.  The present firm is the result of a merger between its successor, Coogan, Bennett, Lorincz & Jacobi, and Smith & McGahan; two highly regarded law firms recognized for their professionalism and concern for their clients.

Now colloquially known as Coogan Smith, the firm has established a reputation for providing superior legal counsel to the commercial, public, and private sectors in Southeastern Massachusetts and Rhode Island.  As the largest full service law firm in the Attleboro area, Coogan Smith prides itself on its versatility and strong ties to the communities and clients it serves.
